On behalf of the Greater Boston community, the Esplanade Association works in partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation to restore, manage, and enhance the Charles River Esplanade for the enjoyment of all. Since its founding in 2001, the Esplanade Association has been dedicated to making life better on the Esplanade. It has been the catalyst for over 28 million dollars in park improvements.

North Shore United Way's Women in Action's mission is to support programs that promote healthy eating, sound nutrition and physical activities for children and families. Launched in 2011, Women in Action is an initiative that grew out of the North Shore United Way’s strategic focus area of health. 100% of all money raised through Women in Action is awarded each spring through specific grants to local innovative programs focused on nutrition and physical activity for children.
